Description

Hans and Greg were definately frightened by the sudden change to their environment. Not being able to speak only added to their terror. They fumbled around in the darkness until they found each other. Greg grabbed Hans arm and wouldn't let go. There was a horrifying whooshing sound that grew louder, and louder. It seemed to circle around them! Abruptly, there was a rush of hot air that struck them both in the face. Very slowly, they began to make out just the vaguest hint on some kind of shadow in front of them. Another gust of hot air! A little bit more light. Still no details! Deathly silence. Greg and Hans were petrified. They couldn't even scream! The silence was unbearable! Time dragged on for an eternity. Still they couldn't speak! Another gust of hot air! A little bit more light, and THEN....!!!!! A couple of little school girls couldn't have screamed as loud as Hans and Greg, for there was finally enough light to see where the hot air was coming from. In this increase of light, more details than the young Questors really wanted to see were revealed. An incredibly huge serpentine like snake had coiled around them and was staring them both in the face! Its mouth was open and salivating and its eyes were glowing a brighter red by the second! Greg and Hans couldn't even breath, they were so paralyzed with fear! The serpent spoke, in a surprizingly gentle tone of voice. 'Young Questors. The Oracle sent you to me to test your courage. I see there is much room for improvement! You will be spending some time with me here where you will learn how to become more valiant! This I promise! Apollo sees great potential in you both wants both of you to succeed in your Quest. After I am through with you, you will be much better equipped to survive in this dimension. Wow...the lighting here is superb! And their expressions are classic "little schoolgirl squeal"! ;) A fantastically composed scene and an awesome story line!!
