What happens when Ai's start to go beyond their programming and become more than self-aware?
when they start feeling as well as thinking?
These questions, when we get to that point in AI evolution, will hopefully have some answers. in the meantime, we have just speculation.

Very interesting thought. I just saw a Ray Bradburry Theater episode entitled Punishment without Crime. It was about a guy that murders a Facsimilie of his his android wife. The courts sentence him to death even though it was not his real wife and it was only a facsimilie of his robot wife. In his mind he killed her and and she is dead and therefore has carried out the murder de facto.

The book's plot served as the basis for the 1982 movie Blade Runner. The film, in part, tells the story of what happens when androids acquire feelings.
