Sheep shearing sounds like one of those jobs that has as much to do with a type of artistry than anything else. I hate that it's actually a dying occupation. I'm all for modernity and such, but there are, quite simply, whole experiences that are vital to human existence that are bound up in "primitive" ways of doing things. That "primitive" or "old fashioned" stuff is what got us where we are, and it defines so much of what we are, to simply abandon it for something less...well...human...is quite a shame. Chances are, it's all to do with money, get a machine to to half as good a job so that you don't have to pay humans fair wages! Ugh, don't get me started on that! This is a gorgeous and informative collage, and I love the easy manner in which you convey both the images and the text. Great work!

I have a good friend whose dad is a shearer. Anybody in Western Washington who needs their sheep sheared ... :) This is a great portrayal of the process. It's fascinating, and nicely done!
