Description
At first, I didn't notice. I was busy to take a shot from the opposite side, and especially the Pompeian-style neo-renaissance decorations neatly decorating the two elegant arches of the balaustrade. Only later I noticed that the group of visitors looking at the skeletons in the cases could be seen as the final (?) point of an evolutionary chart. In fact, the story of the National Museum in Prague and its very rich collections is parallel to that of the 19th century sciences, the development of Darwin's theories and Positivism. Actually, many of the cases are the original ones, especially those containing a huge collection of fossils.
The largest and oldest museum in the Czech Republic, the National Museum houses several floors of permanent exhibits. This monumental, neo-renaissance building was designed by Josef Schultz as an architectural symbol of the Czech National Revival. Construction lasted from 1818 to 1891.

Quite a shot, I must say! The National Museum is such a strange place! The museum itself is an architectural exhibit with a stunning interior. Everyone complains that it needs to be updated, but I don't think so. They are updating it, but I hope it remains distinctly Czech as well! And as for this shot, WOW! The exhibit and the exhibit viewers are an amazing part of this composition! You have such an eye for details and situations: but then you are one of the Renderosity Photo-Ninjas, able to catch that rare shot with ease! This is most definitely one of them! Such color and form, and it seems alive, not like a static picture at all, but more like a living moment captured as it unfolds. I love the colors in this, and the information is quite interesting as well.

Something about those three. They look as if they might be part of the exhibit. The architecture is beautiful. I hope they preserve it. Excellent image and composition.
