Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update  January 2012: After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with its advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems. I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books.  Life marches on!  Â

Sea Kings have only just been replaced by Merlins here in UK and are still a favourite with air sea rescue. Good find and interesting shot!

I am always fascinated by these shots, especially when someone is looking all resolute and determined, and so terribly efficient. I always wonder what those people are looking at and what they're thinking. This is really well done, and for all of the time and weathering in attics, it survived quite nicely. Maybe I'm a weirdo too, but I was immediately drawn to "HEATER INTAKE PORT" in that military-standard stenciling, as well as instructions on how to work the exit release. Show me a great picture with some historical significance, and I'm immediately drawn to instructions on how to open a door! That's so typical of me! Of course I'm also a bit curious as to what you were thinking and looking at, as this picture was taken. Feel free to post zillions of others like this.

Fine redo of an old photo Dana. While you were doing that in the Navy, I was sloshing around in the rice patties of the Vietnam Delta as an adviser. Best wishes for Memorial Day:)

Fasinating picture from the past. Once I was financing that kind of helicopter (I worked in a french bank).

Really good scan job of this old hidden gem, Dana! I'm afraid all I can think of to say has been covered in the previous comments.

Terrific image! I think it came out very nicely. I noticed the exit instructions too. I think it's all those arrows. Which I guess, means the designers did a good job, since they obviously want these instructions to be noticed. Great photo of you!
