Description

Actually quite an old shot, I took this well over a year and a half now, even before I had my 40d in fact. I'd tried to stitch it before and never been happy with it, vowing to myself to come back later to do it "properly" at some point..... well I decided it was about time I tried to make the most of it so here we are, my gallery's first rainbow shot. This is a stitch of three horizontal handheld shots from a brief and totally opportunistic shoot from the side of the road (simply had to pull over when my friend shouted rainbow!) I used a different stitching program this time, which did a much better job with stitching the rainbow, but the whole thing still needed loads of distorting, warping and liquifying to try and make the distortion bearable. It's not all totally gone, but I think this is just about as good as I'm going to get it.... the whole damn process could have been avoided if only I'd had a wide angle lens at the time but I only had the kit lens and had to make do with a quick pano. I guess the upside is I can probably print it a little bigger though if I want to :)

Excellent stitching young man! A full rainbow is rather rare and you did an excellent job with it! Hope you found two pots of gold too for your effort!
