Description

took this a few weeks ago. I was driveing back to Lake charles and I saw the fireworks going off. It was for Contraband Days. As far as I know it Jean Lafitte hide out in Lake Charles at times in CONTRABAND Bayou . here a link to some of the history http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contraband_Bayou thanks for looking and comments and votes too

That man was all over the place... he was all over Galveston and the Texas coast. Back home, all sorts of thing bear his name or old timer's stories tell of his wanderings in the area. And not all bad stories. The man was not always thought of as a bad pirate...some stories make him look like Robin Hood... I love this photo you've done...family enjoying a local holiday... the basis for Southern living.
