My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Cool angles and geometry in this shot of the handrail and steps. It appears the utilitarian framework could do with a sanding down, followed by a fresh coat of paint.

That is a great shot! love the shadows
MrsRatbag
Not me, that's for sure; a wonderful array of lines and textures! Great capture!

Very well seen.

The thing that struck me about this image was the history of common objects. Someone made those rails and laid that concrete. Countless hands caressed the iron railing and countless feet trod those steps. Apart from the geometry of these objects that you have captured so well are the ghosts of those who have passed by.

I'd probably walk right by it!! I'm so glad you didn't; this has that simple beauty you always find!!

Unbelievable! Tara you have the most amazing photographer's eyes. This is just wonderful. Angles, textures, colors, and all composed so well. Photographically excellent, and then when you look at it with wysiwig's comments in mind, it becomes even more meaningful.

There is a set of rails outside of where I work that I keep taking pictures of. I'm going to have to capture one good enough to post so I can get it out of my system. This is excellent! I love all the angles, different textures and depth! I'm curious what the bit of loopy wire at the bottom is. Great shot!

Very cool shot!!

This is just the sort of thing that I like to get my art class pupils to draw! Mind you the last group I challenged like that complained via their leader it was too stressful! Need I say I LOVE it?!

bonne photo!!

Angles textures indeed...and colours galore! A health and safety nightmare here in the UK.. They'd close the place down... Great shot.. Rob

Nothing like a colorful well weathered bunch of angular stuff....
anaber
Fabulous view! And the contrasts between geometry, colours and materials are stunning!

Yup...I can see where Rob is coming from about the UK Health and Safety view of a neat old, deserted fort like this...but, hey, there are signs...enter at own risk. If a bunch of bureaucrats close everything down that could hurt a person, they'll have to be closing the mountains, the beaches, the deserts...where does it end? Life is full of risks...sort of makes the adventure of living worthwhile IMHO. And now for your photo...you know how much I REALLY like the "artsiness" (is this a word?) of this shot:)
Bothellite
Watched the kids play and chase each other around there years ago. Now I look at the big gaps between restraining hand rails.. gulp! Funny how safety minded we are now as opposed to back then. Neat depth and perspective.

Most wonderful angles and lines Tara! I have shot a very similar image last week with the borrowed point and shoot!!!
