My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

What a stunningly beautiful photo. I love how you captured the sunlight on this bloom.

SUIPERBE !!

What a beauty! Yes, they are everywhere, even in my backyard (and I didn't know that's what it was until it finally bloomed this year after living here three years.) With all that you have in your backyard you should be posting more shots of your bounty! If you don't I'll come over there and do it for you... ;)

Beautiful with the sunlight backlighting these blooms. I've only seen them weighted down with raindrops and backed by cloudy gray skies. Once again I like your artistic crop...by all means don't show us the entire thing:)

Fantastic shot, Tara. Love the speckled bloom

I'm lookin out my window at MY rhodie; it's taller than my house (though that's not necessarily saying too much !! LOL) and flaming pink. For the weeks that it blooms all my shoes are covered on the soles with the sticky petals that drop. A small price to pay for the glorious show is gives me. Your rhodies, though, WOW--they're BIG!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWfXqae1NzA&feature=related Rhododendron is a nice flower evergreen it lasts forever (but it can't beat strand power)

There are no rhodies in this neck of the woods. Oh, they're all around Chicago, but most of the greenery around me is just mundane grass, and any blossoms I'm likely to see are...well...dandelions. So this is quite a refreshing image! I love the light and the color and the detail of the petals: those dots, the shapes, everything. It's funny, I see similarities to reflections in this image. Not so much in a literal sense, but in that way that reflections blend and slide through some weird dimensional shift in reality. Close up shots of flower bits to the same thing

Wow, Tara, this is a great capture - the way the light plays across the blossom - a full range of pinks, whites, and the green sets up a wonderful contrast. Even the lightest areas have delicate details. Excellent!
