Description
It was 2004 and my sister was making her third attempt at marital bliss. She thought it would be romantic to have the nuptials on the island of Kauai in the Hawaiian Islands. For some reason she decided on my birthday, October 25th, for the big day. So off we went to the rainiest place on earth during it’s rainy season. As you might have guessed, it rained almost continuously and I, having earned three degrees from major California universities, brought no rain gear for my camera or myself. I did manage to capture a few images during the ten minutes it wasn’t raining. Kauai is a spectacularly beautiful island but I recommend you visit during the summer months or bring a set of water wings.

Lovely shot. Always something great about seeing children fishing.

Mow if you were English you would not dream of going on holiday without clothes for at least 3 meteorological eventualities!

Lovely place, beautiful shot and amusing narrative. I love all the activity of the children and the bright red of the shirt. I hope the third attempt worked well.

Great photo and wonderful narrative.

You have an entertaining way of narrating your photos. Your words enhance your already impressive captures. By the way, I don't think they teach common sense at University. The more highly trained your mind, the less time you have to think about things like the weather. lol

And that's why its called the tropics. LOL I love the rain but not if I'm trying to get married in it. Seems like an omen to me... But how beautiful the rain makes the island. maybe it helped the marriage as well to grow and be fruitful.

The mountains and the marina below is an incredible site to me. I'd take a trip to Hawaii even in the rain. It's a beautiful shot!
