Life in flux. So, I was looking with passionate interest for people who were interested in making realistic materials - called shaders - for Poser mesh. That interest had shifted to making dynamic cloth for Poser, but has since moved further afield: to Blender3D. And creating scenes in Poser for Cycles.
Exciting times!!
How can it be the best things in life are free? Blender 2.63a with Cycles is just the most amazing programme, evah! How can this be free? Well, what I'm typing in: Linux Mint (based on Ubuntu 12.04) is also free. Solid, stable, never any issues, finds new devices without me having to do anything... how can this be free?
These are exciting times indeed, and they don't cost money. They cost time and imagination and dedication and a desire to learn. And they are free.
Gotta love it!

Excellent render. Like the womens expressions. Good to see some act and not "cold" posing. ;o)

i love how you've managed to communicate so much with their poses and expressions. the determination and fierce character of Ithilwen are very clear from her pose, and Lorethryn seems softer but with stubborn core. she seems to look away because she doesn't want to hear what Ithilwen is saying, which means that she also knows the truth behind it. i think the only thing that's missing are some shadows against the wall, both to make the background more interesting and give the characters and the wall more of a visual relationship. definitely a strong work.

Very good pose.

I found that to be true as well, as the bulk of my own art is bound by it as well, (which is why I have such a hard time working in poser vs DS)I really love this piece because it highlights a hidden drama of the regular and mundane that we often experience, and also has a major impact in our lives. You should definitely do more pieces like this!
