Description

Hi Everyone! I know it's been quite awhile since I have shared but Life seems to be getting in the way lately! Hope everyone is well! This is a Male Pileated Woodpecker. The largest Woodpecker in North America so I have been told. Since I put out Suet, He has been a constant Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner guest. He has brought along his mate once but she seems to be nesting and he is eating for energy. My Landlord told me that now that he knows he can find a place to feed his family, they will bring their babies. I hope so! So stay tuned and will keep you updated if they show up! Blessings to All!

Great! I really like these birds and you got a dandy photo. Their "woody woodpecker" call is neat and they can really tear into an old stump, etc. I do hope you can get more photos with the fine detail this one has.

I have only seen a few of these and they are really breathtaking. This shot shows just how incredible they are. Woody Woodpecker was a pileated woodpecker. :-)
