Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I lived in San Fran for over two years and never saw this bridge...although I knew it was there. Your thumbnail really had me guessing. I like this a lot and now I've finally laid eyes on it:)

It looks like it's spanning the sky, with the blue and the clouds; I never saw the water look that beautiful colour from the ground level, must be the sky reflecting! Usually it's muddy brown. Great capture!
jayfar
You have captured this well.

A very elegant structure and a super pic!

It looks so tiny from the air! Magnificently etched against the blue! Great shot Marilyn!

Isn't that amazing. It would have been interesting to see it being built too.

Looks better from this POV than being stuck on that bad boy! ;) In all fairness it does move a little faster than the 3 bridges north of it!

So that's the answer.... if you want to be on cloud nine, you get there by crossing this bridge!! Kool blue bridge shot... fabulous.

Lovely shot of this bridge its a long one, nice blue ocean too..

Excellent clarity and blue color in this wonderful composition, Marilyn. Now the low bridge is fine if the ocean is calm and placid, but what happens in the event of troubled waters? It might splash over the structure, causing all sorts of havoc.

The clouds lined up quite nicely for you, didn't they? What a great capture!

Spectacular how you framed the bridge with the clouds. All together different in color. Dana

Ooooh! Pretty! No really, this is gorgeous. That bridge looks incredibly fragile and almost insubstantial, and this made me think of a scene at the end of the movie A Bug's Life in which the fat caterpillar finally becomes a (fat) butterfly whose wings are too small and the ants he's helped are carrying as he declares (in quite pleased tones) "Oh, you all look like little ants from way up here." I have no idea why that popped into my mind, but there you have it. This is gorgeous, as I've said. Really stunning.

yeah that's right, I'm in your gallery (don't pass out), but I'm making a one-per-gallery jaunt today and I came here for another of your beautiful aerial shots. (I hope to be back for more soon, btw.) Your long distance, aerial, high perspective shots have been beautiful. This one has real sweep, a beautiful rich blue, a wonderful dispersion of clouds (framing the shot almost the way leaves do when shooting through them) and a long span of bridge fading on each end. There are also those electrical towers (I cheated, I looked at your wiki link), and they make wonderful ghosts to this shot. It's always wonderful to see how you move from such intense 'gatherings' as your garden shot (with all your 'creatures' and other stuff), to angled architectural shots, to (of course) your dramatic ocean shots, so on & so forth, and then come to these sweeping breathtaking views of bays & oceans skylines. So many types of image here, always seeking, always stretching & always bounding large swaths of life. A wonderful peaceful image of one of SF's less famous bridges...but still beautiful all the same.

WOW! This is COOL!! What a fantastic capture! Looks almost omniscent like you're looking down from on-high. Well, I suppose you were actually(LOL). What a great shot! This bridge looks a lot like Florida A1A that takes you to Key West. Also vaguely resembles what you can see of the lower part of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge over Tampa Bay after you've ascended to its highest point. What a great shot!
