Description

Sorry I'm still uploading rocks instead of my other stuff, but this one I simply couldn't resist. It's part of a larger arrangement, of course, but I really like how this came out and I simply had to share. Several people compared one of my earlier sets of stones in a circle to a teacher and the students. This features a new rock I recently added to my collection, which is rapidly becoming one of my favorites (Just look at that texture!) and it certainly did teach me some things. Like: keep your toes out of the way, for instance... But really, the power lines, the tree, the fading light as the sun dipped towards sunset, how could I resist? As usual for these, no photoshop except for the framing. It's all just gravity and friction. The largest rocks are around the size of a gallon of milk (Or perhaps a couple of liters, if you prefer?) and I was laying on the ground with my head in the danger zone to get this shot - totally worth it, too.

I'm still amazed at how you balance these rocks so they stay in place.

Well, for your sake when you're doing this, I hope your locale isn't prone to earthquakes! This is a really cool shot, though! I'm still going to give this a try if I ever get to a point where I have more than 5 minutes of free time :-( Cool stuff!
