Description

Is a cool rainy day today. While taking out the garbage, my flowerbed gave my quite a happy surprise - one of my Lilies, a Royal Sunset had blossomed today. First flower of this summer. I ran back into the house for the digital camera, and had to carefully step into the flower bed, as its actually facing the living room window. I'm not the best photographer out there, but I do like taking pictures. Perhaps I'll snap more as they bloom. Just thought I'd share it. Have a wonderful day!

Wow, the coloring made me think it was either a painting or a stylistic render. O_O It's lovely! :D

Ok, I admit, first bloom is the truth, but the flower's this far developed because I bought and planted it, so it had a head start in the local greenhouse. This is just the first flower to bloom in my flowerbed. To those with a keen eye, you'll only notice its a single stem only. To those who are into flowers, also would realize most flowers such as Lilies, multiply in number over the span of several years. BossieBoots, Ladyderyni, NoelCan, Zaarin - thanks! Your right Madbat, I've got quite a few almost fully grown flowers and stalks (those that did survive the winter), but are slow and still forming their buds - everything's stunted in growth this year due to many reocurrances of snow throughout April to early May. For all that I had planted in the past few years, only 3 Lilies didn't make it over the winter, so thus I wanted to pickup some new ones to fill their places, hence the single stalk. Those that did come back all came back anew with many more stalks this year. Jeremy: it is quite exiting, as in the greenhouse, all there were was those little pictures on the plastic info cards of what the flowers looked like, those little pictures being about the average 2.5" x 2.5". So seeing the actual open flower for the first time is very exiting. I've got about 2 or 3 more I bought this year that'll probably open ahead of those that wintered. aureagle: Ohyeah, I'm into photography too as a minor side hobby, just usually don't have much chance to take pictures of anything much. Sometimes just the sky or clouds after a storm or something. I might on occasion post some of the older stuff I have from a few years ago. Where I've been lately? Busy mostly. Out early, back late at night. Thus I've been slow at making or finishing any new renders. I've got a few coming up in the next while though. :)
