Description
Captured 6/5/10, at the beautiful 25th Annual HB Concours, held at the beautiful Huntington Beach Central Park in beautiful Huntington Beach, California.
Much better viewed full size.
An awful lot of beauty to absorb all at one sitting, but I have too many other vehicle fotos in my voluminous files to piddle around showing just one individual pic at a time.
---------------
The Nash Metropolitan is a car that was sold, initially only in the United States and Canada, from 1954-1962.
It conforms to two classes of vehicle: economy car and subcompact car. In today's terminology the Metropolitan is a "subcompact," but this category had not yet come into use when the car was made. At that time it was variously categorized, for example as a "small automobile" as well as an "economy car." The Metropolitan was also sold as a Hudson when Nash and Hudson merged in 1954 to form the American Motors Corporation (AMC), and later as a standalone marque during the Rambler years, as well as in the United Kingdom and other markets.

If you're wondering about the seemingly oversized weird equipment attached to the rear of the car, I believe it's safe to say it's an airfoil/fin/spoiler. Perhaps one of the custom car mavens out there can definitely ID it.
Auf weidersehen, thankx for clicking on, and for any and all complimentary comments and faves.

Well...this is sure one multicolored set of wheels Harry. That contraption on the back of this car is out of this word...never seen a fin that large before...maybe it wants to be a super drag racer. lol

Another wonderful and very exciting collage. Gotta love those happy colors. What is on the end of the car is called here the wing.

It's very cute; I remember seeing these around when I was a kid. Looks like a scoop shovel on the back! Great shots!

Hmmmmmm, Harry. I believe we may have another example of Pop Art here. LOL "Painting, sculpture, graphics [and Hot Rodding?] that use the imagery of popular or mass culture such as newspapers, comics, advertising, and consumer goods. A witty and ironic art." Great pictures taken by the car master...:)

We had an old Nash Rambler, bright red when I was a kid. I have no idea what year it was, I just remember we called it the "bug"!!

Yep, this is some strange looking set of wheels.. Gotta go with Rose, the fin does nothing for it at all.. But, that beast of an engine is so cool.. And the paint-job.. Wow! Good one Harry! Rob

one of the things that's lovely about this is the capture of all that dappled light around the car---in the field, against the trees etc. And that and the light on the car feel in balance. But then there's the car itself: What eye candy! You know, I've never been to any of these car shows, but your gallery has shown me just how much thought & energy the collectors put into them; and how---when the model calls for it---they really know how to deck these cars out. This is an amazing show for the aficionado, and a great treat for the amateur: You're showing us something most of us have never seen. As photography, it has a kind of soft 'sweet' light which is probably just the light, because if it were all in intense hues, the pics would burn a hole through the screen. The car & accouterments are so intense, your light calms them down. And as always you give us the insides, which almost look like Pop Art chrome paintings (I agree with bill). Also, in the 3d panel, those two wing-like things---the vertical things that are holding up that reflector-thing?---they have reflections that move from one to the other perfectly. That shot alone is beautiful, with all the moving reflections on them & the car. Grateful to see these Harry. A real eye feast! I don't remember EVER seeing a Rambler like this! If I were gonna own one, man, I'd love to have one of these...

Harry you sure picked one awsome Nash for this collage, every image is a cracker of this superb machine. This has to be relative of the Nash Rambler from the song 'Beep Beep' by the playmates... remember that one?

An eye opening collage for sure dude! I think that psychedelic might be added to the description. Also it needs a bigger spoiler. Dana
