Description
Beachzz and MrsRatbag should like this.
Captured 6/9/10, early in the morning, within walking distance of my desultory digs.
Better viewed full size.
Not all of our picket fences are in fairy tale pristine condition down here. I know this one adds a homey, seaside weather beaten character to the scene, but, it also lowers property values.
Adieu, thankx for dropping by, and for any and all complimentary comments and faves.

Very nice old picket fence!!

I do like it; especially because of the weatherbeaten quality, but also because of the bright coloured vegetation around. It makes me feel comfortable, and that's good! Excellent capture!

bonne photo!

Very well done, Harry. Great angle on the fencing, and the yard behind the fence looks like it surely belongs to an avid gardener.

Hello Harry! I actually find this fence very appealing (paint's a-peeling, too). It has tons of character and I really like the foliage, dead and alive that surrounds the wood, top and bottom. People in MN would be extra happy to make photo frames of it and sell it for a high price to add this character to their homes. Thanks for your lovely comment. I hope I have some time to spend here. :-)

From the selling point you right but such a lovely texture on the fence. Also I can not help peek a cross and see a few flowers. I am sure good to come home here.

Excellent image ... fantastic work!

From an upkeep perspective it should be painted, but it's much more interesting this way. Love the POV and the flowers! Excellent shot!

Oh, this is great--I love the weathered look and all the little pops of color---super shot, Harry!!

Well seen and captured O'lboy, this looks great!

The owners need to hire Tom Sawyer. Remember when paint was inexpensive? Not so much anymore. Like this...I'd like to see more of the less than pristine in your walking cruises around town:)

yes, it's true that these semi-decayed structures lower property value, but of course to a photographer (or painter) it's a treat. This is a very rich capture: In addition to the multiple levels of the fence (I adore this kind of decay---visually, that is), you caught a nice swath of the background walls with a nice beige-ish peach hue, and all that garden stuff around. Considering what's behind the fence, the partial decay of the fence seems to fit right in. And you caught a hedge in front, of similarly colored flowers (similar to the walls inside the fence) which harmonizes with everything behind. A splendid capture of simplicity & eloquence. And your angle & inclusions (like that pink pot in the right background) are pitch perfect.

no pristine condition but "character" as we like to call this ones in euphemistically...lol
