Description
Lorenzo Bartolomeo Giovanecchi, il duca di Galeassi, is a powerful and cunning lord, not known for scrupulosity or honesty in his dealings. More commonly known as Lorenzo Testarossa, the duke has solidified his stronghold on the region, and has eyes for the lands beyond his borders. Lately, he has heard of a skillful mercenary named Francesco Ramiro in the nearby territory of Antalia. Ramiro is currently in the employ of one of Testarossa's rivals, Don Alfonso dell' Accada. It would be helpful, Testarossa considers, to have Ramiro convert to his cause....and to discover just what Ramiro's links are to the noble della Vedra family. The duke's mind swiftly goes into gear plotting.....
This one is for Leander, whose story and wonderful images from "The Academy" inspired me to create a character tangential to it and also to try to duplicate her marvelous lighting style in DAZ. If you haven't seen her gallery, its worth checking out, Leander2010. I think I have come close to her style....not quite as good as Leander... but getting there. I will let her be the judge. In any case it was a fun image and story to create and I hope you all enjoy it.
PS...the duke is more handsome in full view! :)
PSS...I had this scene fully constructed AND saved and when I tried to render it DAZ crashed. I opened my saved scene and every attempt at rendering crashed. So, the image you are looking at had to be fully recreated from scratch...and thankfully it rendered!!
Thanks for viewing and for all the comments and favs which are deeply appreciated and also give me inspiration!
Thanks also for comments and favs on my previous image "Embracing the Light (for pixeluna and chucknepo)":

Thanks for the link to Leander's site. It is most excellent! Having read the later post about Testarossa and Elisabetta, I can't say I'm one of his biggest fans. It seems being drop dead gorgeous for him also means being a 'will you drop dead please' sort of person. Sorry to say that about your avatar, there is no denying he is very handsome. Maybe he just needs to meet a few humbling experiences. Beautiful composition, textures, and light! It's fascinating to look at all the different textures. There are wonderful textures in the fabrics alone, and thenn there is the wood, stone, and vessels. Lovely light on his clothes, skin, and hair. Great pose and expression. His hand looks ready to grab that sword, and his expression shows a willingness to use it. Beautiful scene, excellently done!

Perfect character piece and excellent use of scenery components. You have captured Leanders style quite well. Don't know why it took me so long to track down your 'red head' avatar.

exeptional picture of a noble man in his house with the great view outside and the detail inside. The looks you provide inside the face are great of proudness

There is a goot alternative-clothing from esha in the daz-shop: http://www.daz3d.com/i/shop/itemdetails/?item=9387 and http://www.daz3d.com/i/3d-models/-/dancar-diversity?item=9394 It needs much memory to create such a pic i think (the houses in the background). your crash-Problem: there is a possibility to render "extern" with 3delight. That works better and it's intresting for people with less memory and who are getting always error-messages like me. There was a thread in the daz-forum. I can sent you the tutorial if i find it ;-). But in DS4 rendering works better - i think it's memoy-optimized.

I'm playing catch-up here~ Fantastic render for all your intensely hard work (you must have felt your heart sink & crash with DAZ~ I know I would have) The recreation was well worth it! Your images are altogether exquisite~ Your short stories only make them that much better. This is going into my favorites =) Just outstanding!
