Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

This is quite inviting and I love the blue and the ripples! The shoreline adds a wonderful contrast too. Great light, I really like the way it ripples, almost like little flakes of silver scattered in the wind. I can tell you love this river; your shots of it are so compelling and relaxing all at once!

The Eel seems to have many faces. And the water looks lovely. Great shot.

OMG, I thought I was looking at the night sky at first. The river looks terrific compared to the riverside, M.

Yipes! Looks like I just lost my balance and am in the process of falling off the cliff. Hmmmmmmm. Hope the water's deep. About those eels... Great compelling shot. Love the lighting, the depth AND the vertigo!

What a perspective! The river looks upside down ... I can see what Harry meant. Great capture!

highly detailed shot of what I'd almost assume was a calm shore of the ocean...and I can't explain why, except that it has an implied vastness to me that would suggest a much bigger body of water. The ripples are very fine (and packed-in), while the grasses along the sand add a highly detailed music to the otherwise flat sand; and the choice to include the tree/bush on the left is just right. Lots of movement here, in the grasses and in the ripples. It's a beautiful shot, kind of archetypal river stuff, and very active & yet peaceful. Wonderful lighting coming in from the right too...it gives the shot a luminosity that I think your fans associate with you (I sure do). I'm loving these river shots, they've all been very luminous, Marilyn.
