Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I should have been in the sea here by now, but I've not braved it yet.

Stunning combination of bright light and silhouetting in this snap, M! It reminds me of scenes from the movie, Deliverance.

This looks great, just peeking through the trees at the river calling as it ripples by... Excellent shot Marilyn...

You know, I'm gonna have to just come on out there and see that river for myself. I'd first learned about it in Prague of all places, and it's been with me since! You always capture such wonderful hints of it, or the full stretch of it, and it's always different! I love this shot of it, peeking like a shy lady through veils of tree-growth! The whole image looks so peaceful. Really nice work.

like Chip, I'll have to come out there & see that river too one day. The shot is luminous, because of how you have whites & high yellows behind the dark silhouettes of the trees: light behind dark, sandwiched between them in fact. And the light illuminates the tree tops on each side: It's like a dark front and a beaming interior that just sings through the shadows. And the river's back there, shining away...Full of light & energy, it's really beautiful, Marilyn. You know, you and water, it's just a natural combo. Your water shots---whether ocean or river---are just exploding with your essence & with the energies of the places you capture. They call you. Amazing you live near all this, and it's great you give it to us all the time, through your vital eyes.

Just love the backlighting. Dana

Hmmmmmmmm, nice job Marilyn. I haven't seen your river for awhile. Like the way you've dealt with the light in this image.
