Description

I've been chasing dragonflies since the day I picked up a camera. This one practically landed in our lap yesterday in the lower backyard. This beautiful big guy (approximately 6 inches long and 8 inches from wing tip to wing tip) landed on a tree limb and remained stationary for so long I thought that maybe he had died. Never being ones to pass up a photo op we got the camera out and took a few shots. After Marshall took his shots and as soon as I took a few of my own he flitted away.
As the Arabian proverb goes "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" I am a human pin cushion for mosquitos. Dragonflies eat mosquitos and other insects and that's one reason they are so near and dear to my heart. Not to mention, they are gorgeous to behold and an inspiration to the imagination.
Thanks for stopping by!
