Description

This photo was taken on a trip Marshall & I took last April to St Joseph's Island, near Port St. Joe, Florida. These two seagulls were taking a break as two military planes went by, and judging by the look on their faces they didn't seem too impressed by their "birds of a feather" cousins. Actually, the planes were too far away for them to even notice, or care. What actually caught their attention was a small fishing boat had just tossed some fish or unused bate into the water, and the outburst from the other seagulls made everybody look to see what was going on. But as the planes approached I thought they might make an interesting composition behind our two seagull friends who had been watching us, so here it is. This was taken less than 20 days before the Deepwater Horizon oil gusher disaster. No one had the slightest idea that fine afternoon that most of this was on the way to being destroyed as we know it to be. Make it a great day! Julia

Julia- you made me laugh a little because of the contrasting statements appearing next to one another... "No one had the slightest idea that fine afternoon that most of this was on the way to being destroyed as we know it to be. Make it a great day!" Hope's all well up in your part of the nation! - M.
