The wikings settled down here because of the nice climate.
Houses and harbours where buildt.
Close by, at Hafrsfjord, a big battle took place in 872 ac. Norway was united under one king.
Norways first king was Harald Hårfagre. That means Harald with the long and beautiful hair.
