Description

Captured 5/25 & 6/18/10, around 7:30 AM, at a shopping mall about a mile from my heady haunt. Better viewed full size. Got there early to avoid the customer vehicle and foot traffic that would permeate the scene after the stores opened. Top three fotos looking east, bottom one at the other end looking west. If you look closely, you will see a person at the very end of the walkway in foto #4. Postwork involved increased contrast and brightness. Ta-ta, thankx for stopping by, and for any and all complimentary comments and faves.

Oee - I really like these shots Harry - especially the bottom two that seems to give a lot more depth! That walkway is going on forever! The top image is also great as it shows the different pillars and arches!! Great collage indeed!

Doesn't it make you wonder if some time in the distant future only these arches will remain, and people will revere them as beautiful historic ruins? Excellent captures of these long lines of repetitive arches...beautiful!

These images really come to life in 3D perspective as you walk from POV to POV. Nice job Harry.

Awesome, Harry. I love all the colors visible in the 1st one, but the perspective in the 4th.

more of your fascinating studies, where you capture all kinds of language & expression in a single sight, and put together with your usual sensitivity to sequence. We see these arcade-malls so much, it's easy to take them for granted. But when you study them & shoot them, they speak a language all their own. You got the repetition and all that stone/masonry, etc, but you also got the open spaces these things have. You caught their music. Plus your angle allows the thickness of the "piers" to stand out. (I mean the supports for each arch---they're not really 'piers', but I don't know what to call them.) It's really a squat style, thick and low, and it feels very playful when you make them solo like this. And ingenious of you to get there early, to get no people. (I was wondering what happened to the people, before I read your desc.) Nice rhythms in the signs too, how regulated they are. Another fine collection from your surroundings, and I agree with Andrea's response, and I'm from this country: The hues are particular to your area I'd think (and to Florida too). We don't have those pastels very much in cold & windy chicago.
