Description
This tiny owl (the size of a sparrow) is the world's smallest. I got this shot at the World Owl Trust based at Muncaster Castle, Cumbria.
I was told they are fiece far beyond their size taking on prey 3 times there size. Perhaps that is why he has such a huge hooked beak for a little bird. Onlike most owls he cannot swallow his prey whole if it's bigger than him!

nice pic ! owls tend to be, relative to other birds, not very intelligent but very aggressive. if you ever have to handle one it is best wear some eye protection, even if it seems small and fluffy...
