When I was a kid, there was a duck couple we called Elmer and Esmeralda that swam around Balboa Bay in southern California. Sometimes they'd have a brood with them, and of course, I always tried to talk my mom into letting me have "just one" to take home. Years later, as I walked again along that bay---there they were!! Well, certainly not the original two, but a couple of their great, great, great, etc. offspring. Your foto brought this to mind--thank you for that!! OH, sweet shot too, ducks and all!! lol

Mark this is a wonderful scene to start my day off on such a positive and warm note. I love this little duck couple that seems to be woven into a regular part of your life. It's a great photo and represents all that is innocent and wonderful about true love. It's almost as if they posed just for you in this picture perfect setting.

I love having "regulars" on my walks too...these two seem very comfortable with each other. Great capture!

Makes you wonder what they are thinking or are they? Nice shot mark!!!

The wavelets look solid, like that icing my Mum used to whip up with a knife to make my birthday cakes look like sea! "Ducks with Icing", I like it.

Very nice ducks! Great shot.

Ducks at dawn...without your photo, I'd be expecting to either see a dual fought using ducks as weapons or two ducks hurrying to the field of honor with their seconds right behind. All silliness aside, I like this couple, proudly standing tall in the early morning light. Colorful for sure:)

OH, they are so pretty and I like how they are looking at you, as if they thought, I wonder if he brought some good old bread. Such a sweet shot and I love the soft waves.

A great shot of this sweet duck couple. I hope you get shots of their 'kids'. CC

I can see that these two are debating whether they should go and find some food in the choppy water or wait till someone comes along with some bread. The water looks very cold and uninviting but with such a lot of character. An excellent photo.

What a marvelous picture. It reminds me of my Czech friend, Pavl (the one everyone keeps hearing about. He likes ducks. Whenever I see ducks, I think of him, or of my friend Kacha: she likes ducks too.) Anyway, enough rambling. This shot really stands out. Those little waves are the perfect, dramatic background for this regal pair, and they're most-definitely regal! I love the soft light, sharp only on the water. Is this taken at twilight? Well...whenever it was taken, it's quite gorgeous! I love the way it's evoked memories from others who've seen it...Elmer and Esmarelda, Birthday Cake Icing, and a loopy Czech guy with a penchant for toying with tourists, or wandering around the banks of the Vltava River, looking for ducks: he watches them the way most people watch television! Ah...thank you for evoking those memories, and this is superb work, as always!

The loving couple, enjoying their environment to the full (as you obviously were, as well). I love the bold colours and the waves frozen behind the birds - time and endless possibilities on hold... Great shot!

Off-the-chart fantastic clarity, silhouetting, lighting and textural effects in this capital foto of the waterfowl, contrasted against the choppy waters of mighty Lake Michigan, ruminating on whether to toss caution aside and go skinny dipping and/or paddling about.

What a beautiful shot!

I'm with Andrea on the quality of the waves ... fabulous! And "ducks at dawn?" That bmac62 is a character. I've GOT to meet him! LOL! This is a charming shot. I love the early-morning-low-light feel this has. Beautiful!

Well, how typical - she's in the lead!! And he'll follow along "yes, dear, whatever you say, dear" in his ducky way. Very cute couple!

A dedicated couple .. enjoying the vies .. debating whether to take the plunge. Don't, I say, it looks COLD!! On the other hand, if the weather is as warm as it is here .. go for it! Plunge in and cool off! A delightful shot!
