Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

lol, a surfer dude for a birthday gift! (Do they surf in S. Africa? Is that just a California thing?) It's so cool to see this big wave---almost like a sculpture in your shot---dotted with all those guys. Why are they so close to each other? I mean, if they start surfing, don't they run into each other??? Well as you can see, I know about as much about surfing as I do about reinforced concrete, but a really fun shot with a fine capture of that wave, and I love your light too: It's a Marilyn ocean shot for sure---only dotted with a bunch of (forgive me surfers) crazy dudes with big clumps of wood who, for some reason, are waiting around for a wave that could pummel a small mountain! (Ya think I don't get the whole "surfing" thing???) A really fun piece for your friend, and a fine dedi too. Happy Birthday Carin, and many more!

Is she's got any sense, she'll hold auditions first...might even have to do some "call-backs..." LOL

I'm not sure what I enjoy most - the gifts or the comments!!! Andrea will have to stand in line - I might just take all 6!!! I like PJ idea of auditions... LOL... What a cool pic and gift Marilyn! Definitely useful!!! Thank you dear friend!

The swells are just swell as a dedication to our mutually dear friend on her birthday, Maz! Cool lighting and water textures in this super shot.
