Description

Well, probably not the kind of rooster* you were expecting!! Donner Lake, last summer, early in the morning. *for those of you who might not know, in water skiing, the spray created by the skier is called a "rooster tail"--hence my title!!

Ah...I love a good pun, even if its a surfer pun...I'm one of those landlocked people who knows next to nothing about that stuff people do on bodies of water that make really big waves! But that doesn't take away from the awesomeness factor of this shot! This is quite an amazing piece of action photography, and whether appropriate or not, I can hear the Hawaii Five-O music playing in the background. Yeah, I like this a lot!

This is a FANTASTIC shot! A wonderful action pix captured perfectly! You got the lighting, the motion, the peak of the action totally spot on! I've heard the term rooster-tail before but in a different context. Rooster-tails are what we used to call the twin sprays of gravel, dirt ETC that flew off the back tires of a car when you floored it from a dead stop on a non asphalt surface like the gravel shoulder of a highway or a country road. By the way, the biggest car I ever drove was my grandpa's 78 Cadillac Sedan DeVille with a 425 V8. It handled-if you could call it that-like a cushy sofa version of the USS Nimitz. The only good thing about it, besides the stereo, was that it would really haul butt. Smaller cars would get the hell out of your way on the highway when you roared up behind them. Then, of course, I would have to climb back into my 74 Datsun 610... But I digress. This is a great shot!
