Description
Naevia: Honor and glory, that is all you care about. Crixus: Not all. Naevia: You shouldn't look at me in that way. Crixus: I try with all my strength, but I am weak. Naevia: Is it true, love makes a man weak? Crixus: It can give him hope ... in the right arms.I have mentioned to you that I keep a collection of these study portraits on the walls where I spend my creative time. There are such a large number of them now that I must rotate the images which are hanging. I have only shared a few to date becuase I'm not sure if most of these will be of any interest to you. They help to inspire me but I'm a strange gypsy. There has been one portrait that has been expressing a desire to be seen. This face above has been staring intently at me for the past several days and so I have brought her to meet you. Perhaps there's something to be settled between the two of you and this urge to come down off the walls has nothing to do with me at all! ;-) I created several studies of Naveia at different ages. Born in the villa at the gladiator academy, Naevia knew of no other life but that of a slave in the house of Batiatus. As I developed the portraits from different periods of her life what came through after a time was a native nobility. At first I thought this odd for a slave and figured I had missed the mark and injected some projection of my own into her character. After this particular portrait was on the wall a week or so I realized that this nobility is true to Naevia. This was the life she knew and her spirit had never been chrushed or broken by the loss of her family or being torn from her home and sold into captivity. Obediant she is, at least until love comes to transform her life, yet obediance and nobility often go hand in hand. What I see in Naevia is an intricate entwinement of these two traits. May you be enjoying a creative and inspired weekend! Terry The image below will take you to: Naevia; A Slave Freed by Love

She's gorgeous! Her eyes are so hypnotic and mesmerizing! ;D Sometimes in life situations occur where things seem hopeless, others may view you as trapped. But its your attitude and view point that determines whether or not you are trapped. It doesn't matter what others think, only you. When you start to think that you're trapped, then you are - until then... ;) live freely!!!

I had an interesting reaction to this young lady. This is a slave's or soldier's face, no emotion shows. Whatever is going on inside is hidden. Her face reveals nothing which, of course reveals everything. I imagine this is the face her master would see.
