Description

For Goodness' sake I got the Hippy Hippy Shakes I got the Shakes I got the Hippy Hippy Shakes who remembers that Beatles tune? Charlene (Charberry), left me the following comment: Ooooh, more salt shakers. These are really cool. You are beginning to start me collecting salt shakers. Why not... I collect a lot of other things, too. ;c) So I thought I would do this one for her, it wasn't my intention to get anyone started on collecting these but fun to hear it did, I have a small collection myself, would love for anyone else that does to show us some photos of their collections. Some day soon I will go back and retake the ones I lost.. until then I have one more to post on this series. thumb_2075195.jpg

Great shot loving this series. Just some info on the song from our friend wikapedia "Hippy Hippy Shake" is a song written and recorded by Chan Romero in 1959.[1] That same year, the song reached number three in Australia. A cover version by Italian rocker Little Tony appeared in the same year and found moderate success in the United Kingdom and Italy. A version by UK-based band The Swinging Blue Jeans was released in December 1963. This single reached the British top 5 and just missed the Top 20 (#21) on the United States charts in early 1964. A well-known version of "Hippy Hippy Shake" can be found on the Beatles album Live at the BBC. This version was recorded in July 1963 almost certainly pre-dating the Swinging Blue Jeans recording.

OH, thank you, Lynell, that was sweet of you to do this. I have some old, old handmade salt shakers, one set made from walnut shells. So I have a small start, and I love colored glass, so I guess if the two were put together, that would make an interesting collection. LOve the Beatles! ;c)
