Description

Hi Everyone, Here is my visitor as I went out of my door today on my way to work. I was a few minutes late - just had to take a dozen photos before leaving. Hope you enjoy the shot as much as I did the encounter. This is last years cub - no doubt on his own for the first time as Mom likely sent him away so she could raise more. Black bears breed every two years. Thanks for looking. -GB-

I'm breathless! I'm captivated! I wish I could have been beside you to see this. There is only one animal on this continent that I fear - the bear. I will deal with rattlers, spiders, bobcats and mountain lions but I know the bear is the less stable of them all. Although we have them around us here, I stay out of their territory and never camp in the higher elevations where they are found because I fear them...But oh! the fascination is fierce too! Great shot!
