Description
When I was young and had no sense
In far-off Shanghai bay
I lost my heart to a Chinese girl
As lovely as the day.
Her skin was gold, her hair was jet,
Her teeth were ivory;
I said, "for twenty silver pieces,
Maiden, sleep with me".
She looked at me, so pure, so sad,
The loveliest thing alive,
And in her lisping, virgin voice,
Stood out for twenty-five.

Much better composition than "Crying in the rain". The effect of the half hidden picture in (on) the wall adds that dimension of mystery, which was used by writers in the late 18 hundreds / early 19 hundreds, when writing about the Chinese in diverse Chinatowns and the western enclaves in China, like for instance Romer Sax in Tales of Chinatown.

Very nice scene, Randy. Her pose and gaze are quite striking and go a long way to illustrating her character without saying a word.
