Description
It was closer to a week before Myni was recovered enough for the High Priestess to release her from their care. During that week, Vorzul continued to search for answers. He spent most of his time in the Temple library searching through the older books and scrolls but was unable to find any thing thast resembled the language the scroll was written in. He did find some interesting reading about the demons of the nether worlds. Most of which confirmed what little he already knew about them. He was already aware that demons were immortal and he was pretty sure that once killed on this plane they could not return for a thousand years unless specifically summoned by name. What he read in the old and musty tomes confirmed this and also hinted that one with demon blood in them could kill another demon permanantly even on this plane. But only one with demon blood, no one else could destroy a demon without going to the netherworlds and destroying the demon there. Vorzul didn't know of anyone with demon blood in them, or of any way to find out if any one did. He also didn't know anyone in their right mind that would willingly go to the nether world to take on a demon at its strongest.
"Oh well," he thought to himself, "a thousand years is a long time, I'm sure to come up with something by then, if I live that long!"
"Hey Vor! Are you still down here?" he heard Myni yell for him, bringing him out of his meditation.
"I'm here Myni," he called back softly. "Didn't anyone ever teach you to be quite in a library? Some people are in dep thought in here."
"Like you?" she said in a quieter voice as she walked up to where he was sitting.
"Yeah, like me and the rest of these..." he trailed off as he looked asnd saw he was the only one in the library at the moment.
"You've been down here almost two days now Vor! Aren't you ready to go yet?" she asked
Vorzul could hear how anxious she was to get back on the road again, he chuckled lightyly and replied, "Impatient as always! You would think you would have learned a little patience by now."
"Life is too short for my kind, we don't have the luxury of patience!" she shot back, laughing.
"Well, its bad enough out living my friends as it is, but it's even worse losing them prematurely. And I almost lost you too early for my liking."
"Ah, come on you big ole softy, don't go getting all mushy on me!" Myni said with a big grin. "besides, I'm a warrior and I'd much prefer death on the battlefield over wasting away with age!"
Vorzul smiled down on his friend, "Okay, I won't get 'mushy' Lets get back to our room and get some rest. We will leave for Lynia's in the morning."
Vorzul didn't get much rest that night, Myni was determined to show him her appreciation. Luckily for him he didn't need a lot of rest, and it helped that she was still a little weak and ran out of energy early (for a halfling any way). The following morning they said their good-byes to Symea and set out for Lynia's tower. The trip itself was fairly uneventful. They encountered very little trouble during their trip. The bandits that worked the route they followed left them alone. Their reputation for dealing swift justice was well known in these parts. A small band of orcs tried to ambush them, but to no avail. Vorzul and Myni made quick work of them and continued on there journey.
