To be honest, I have to agree that the post work is not as strong as per your usual style. It seems a bit pasted in... I think your edges were just a bit too defined and the layer not dense enough, with too much repitition of pattern. It can be such a struggle because as more smoke goes in the less details show in the composition. The posing and lighting are strong points, as his his expression of terror.

Superb work! I like the post-work idea myself. A crawling fog is a nice addition. It's not the fog but the execution of it that didn't really come off well. But all in all I like this. Well done.

I actually like the post work, but I think what makes this for me are the shadows on the wall behind the figures and the expressions on both the beast and the warrior. Great work, as usual!
