Description
I was just doing some renders to work on re-texturing methods to make skin/eyes/lips look better and more lifelike in Carrara, when I came out with this render.... still lots of work to do to achieve any realistic effect, but this random pose and camera angle, well, I just liked it. Something about it appeals to me, can't say what :) So I'm posting it, because I don't have a lot of gallery images up yet anyway.
The texture is Lorena, by Rhiannon (available right here at Rendo), and I didn't notice it when I bought it but in this render it looks almost exactly like my ex girlfriend (so maybe my subconscious make me choose it? Freud would have a field day...) Texture is pretty damn good, but not elite, so don't be too hypercritical if you can't see every last pore :) The hair is dynamic Venus Hair by 3dCelebrity (available at DAZ; she does amazing things with Carrara hair) and the eyes are a combination of Endless Eye texture plus Indigone's shaders, with a heaping helping of Jt411's eye-lighting method (if you haven't yet checked out his how-to Carrara videos, go straight to his profile right now and check them out; they are excellent!). No ambient light or hdri or anything, just 4 spot lights, all white, in a standard 4 light portrait setup (key light, back light, and 2 fill lights).

Beautiful portrait, and far better than I could do!

Great close up - love the look! The next step in realism probably requires the use of skylighting (and ensure that "Ambient" is turned right down). HDRIs rock so don't avoid them!

Beautiful portrait! I really like the pose and the eyes!

Nice portrait in particular the hair.
