Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Oh, I LOVE that title! How do you do it? You always have this zinger of a title that just fits perfectly with whatever you're posting/photographing. This is a delicious, humdinger of a title. And the photo is amazing! I love old rivets and rust and metal and well...a good bridge is just too hard to pass up. There's a place near Corey's apartment you'd love...we both actually got a few pictures FROM it, but precious few OF it...well...Corey has that spooky UFO abduction shot of the bridge itself, but it's devoid of rivets. Anyway, based on this great pic, you'd just love that bridge. As for this shot by itself, it's brilliant. I really like how you make a piece of metal and rivets seem alive and like they're a part of something a bit more special than a bridge. Yeah, I like this. A lot!

great work - the textures and colors and layers of paint are fascinating. Well done.

Oh yes, I love the clarity, colors and stark lighting in this image of all that glorious corrosion, erosion, deterioration, and oxidation, Marilyn! Although, by the title, I was expecting to see a scanned shot of Rosie the Riveter doing her thing in WWII.

super cool

Super title and capture. It is a wonder that some of these older bridges stay up. Dana

For some reason, it reminds me of taking pictures from above looking down of peoples head watching a game. Have I lost it? lol.... Aloha
