Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Heureusement que les photos sont autorisées, parce que c'est un bel angle de vue.

Well...whatever they were saying, it's kinda pretty! I love all of the lines and the way they curve, and you have this light and shadow thing going really well...it's stark, but still inviting. Don't you just love it when a photo does that, and then you realize YOU took the picture? This is definitely a super shot, clean and elegant.

All the bridges around here have had suicide prevention fences installed to try and stop the record amount of young people killing themselves. Is this what these are? I think if someone was really resolute about doing it, these fences wouldn't stop them for long. God this is getting morbid!!!!!!Sorry I'm really not feeling morbid!! Maybe my typing fingers are! I just noticed you have posted 1778 images here!!!!! I thought I was bad!!!!!!!!

I really think I am getting O L D!!! I had to have a long hard look to figure out how this work!!! But I got it!!! Wonderful POV and light/shadow play marilyn! Hopefully no-one dives, fishes or jumps from there!!!

I loved the bridges in Portland...and so many of them. But I don't know that I got this close to them except to race across them to get to the other side and I was too busy looking at the view and not the bridge. Cool shot.

In other words, you should have just stayed home and played video games. Stellar clarity, contrast and POV of the repetition and silhouetting in this very cool capture, Maz!
jocko500
wonderful design for sure
danapommet
A sweet pattern and this fencing looks in better condition than the bridge itself. Dana

Wonderful shot! I love the repetitive pattern and the shadows (far left). I promise not to jump! LOL!
MrsRatbag
I think that bridge has had a lot of jumpers, so the suicide prevention theory is probably correct. But those bars do make a lovely pattern!
