On Aviation and Photography:
"You haven't seen a tree until you've seen its shadow from the sky." -- Amelia Earhart
“You don't take a photograph, you make it.” - - Ansel Adams
UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

And I ask myself WHY would anyone want to build "orderly beds amidst rectilinear fencelines"! Ghastly thought. It's not a cemetery is it? I quite like the 'installation', and it reminds me I have a small collection of this cobalt blue glass.

Great capture, I wonder who emptied the bottles and was this made just after he emptied them?

I am sure the condensation on the bottles does drip down the stems and moisten the ground... nah... must have been fun making it though! Clive

Oh, our neighbor down the road has one of this species of garden item! I like the all blue 'blossoms'...our neighbors have a multi-colored 'blossom' one, LOL.

Very cool !! In the town I grew up in out in California there is a place called the bottle village it was started by a 63 year old woman there are 23 buildings and structures made completely out of bottles. It was all started because she had a huge pencil collection and needed somewhere to store the pencils, the village was damaged in the 93 earthquake but I believe it was repaired and up and running with small tours. I wish I had thought to take some photos last time I was home.. Great photo.

Wonderful capture of this odd plant on display here, Bill. I wonder how goats would fare with those blue tidbits?

I would believe that this is a perennial and not an annual. it is obvious that you do not trim the blossoms. Excellent capture

I love paths that meander along and what a great find you came upon. This new speciman will surely catch on.

Ooooooo! It's a magnificent specimen! The extremely rare Bluebottlerebar bush! How cool! I need a couple of these out back by my old telephone pole. Easy to care for, and they bloom all year - even in the snow! Perfect for a gardener like me! LOL! Very cool find and photo, Bill!
