Description

This is a shot of the Gloucester, Massachusetts harbor with a lobster boat in the foreground. They have pulled up a 4 trap trawl line. That would be a float, a long rope line with 4 lobster traps spaced out and another float at the end of the line. The trawl line and traps sit on the bottom of the ocean with a float, on the surface, at each end of the line. This boat uses turquoise floats and to prevent conflicts with other lobster boats, has displayed one of his floats on his radio antenna, on the roof of their boat. They gaff one of the floats and pull up the 4 traps, remove the lobsters and miscellaneous trash that has found its way into the trap, put in new bait and lay the trawl line back on the ocean bottom. Great shot, Dana!! Okay, you're making me want lobster SO badly. I may have to send Mike to the store, LOL!!! Thanks for pointing out that the lobsterman displays one of his buoys on his boat! And...hmm...that's a rather small boat. I'd hate to be out in bad weather in one that size!!
