Description
Hi Everyone. This is a "fairy tale" takeoff on Andrea's "A Dog's Life," here. I imagined a strange & mysterious journey, with the dog landing in a Spirit-filled Garden. Don't ask, lol!! It's what came to mind... I had a medical procedure, not serious, just messy & painful. I hope to be back in 2 or 3 weeks. I know it sounds like a broken record, but I'm not looking for sympathy: I just want you to know why I disappeared. I can't comment yet, but I've looked & I've loved everything (I always say that, but I really mean it!), and I look forward to commenting when I return. In the meantime, my one piece of art in 2 weeks--an Andrea Variation! The fairy tale goes: "A mystical dog is abducted, he returns in a beam of Light, then he saves the World!" Does that sound like I've been drugged for 2 weeks??? Well I truly hope you're all well, and I wish you a terrific new week!

And it was all nothing but a dream, that the sweet dog dreamt, when he was lying in his wonderful little enchanted summer house of dreams. Really amazing number 1... and number 2...so lovely included number 3, not to mention the shining number 4. I have missed your beautiful symphonies Mark. So good to see you posting again Thank you :-)))

Amazing arrival and transformation. This fascinating visual sequence approaches some of my dreams as a 6-7 year old...I loved folk/fairy tales then...and still do:) Although we are seeing Andrea's dog here (Ralphie I think), I am reminded of my youthful thoughts of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves...magic words, shifting lights, fabulous interiors (the thieves' cave in my case). Great piece Mark. See you here when that finicky, pesky, uncomfortable medical problem is slain and booted back out of your life:)

What amazing medication! Where can I get some? Is it available on the NHS? Will it guarantee artistic results like yours? I LOVE it, Mark! Such FUN! Get well sooon..my tummy fluttered at the 'messy and painful' info! OOO!

Lol at Andrea; I had the same thought myself!! Used to be that kind of medication was illegal!!! Love what you did with her sweet little doggie---made it delightful and fun and full of little yips and barks. I think I might even see a dog bone or two in there, but that could be the effect of the talk of your medication!! Get well soon and I'll send as much quiet to you as I can.

Hey, I believe a dog could save the world. Mine have saved me plenty of times. And what a colorful and fanciful series. Miss you and wish you a speedy recovery. CC

These are amazing. I heard somewhere that dogs don't see in color. Well.... who can say for certain and maybe they dream in color but they won't tell!! Great work!

Oh Mark, you have really worked your magic on this one; I LOVE the first one especially, with overtones of "The Snow Queen", but they're all mouth-watering. Your sense of colour is so luscious and....complete, I guess, is the closest I can come to describing it. They're ALL there, all the ones that should be, in all the right amounts and with the perfect luminosity. Well done!

What a true delight to arrive home tonight and be greeted with a new upload from you Mark. This is such a lovely devotion, and as pointed out you put an incredible amount of work into it. It feels so much like you've transported us with the dog to that spirit filled island, where it seems almost any fantasy can come true. So sorry your recovering from surgery Mark, and I'll keep you in my prayers that you can be better soon.

I love the adventure you have given Andrea's dog, I'm sure he will get a real buzz out of this tale and it has taken me on a magical ride too. Very well done with the colouring and the little additions that have given us this result. I do hope your painful surgery heals quickly and that you feel like being in the land of the living again soon. Take care.

What a wonderful story you've given Andrea's dog! Really ... what dog wouldn't just love to save the world? :) I hate to be a copy-cat, but I REALLY like the first panel. It's got such impact! I love the sense that the place is filled with smoke after something has absolutely POPPED in, like a brilliant magic trick. Such a wonderful progression of light and color, and I love the way the second one still shimmers with movement. Fantastic work!

What an amazing piece of work! I love the whole series you've done here, and to top it off, I'm up far too late at night, listening to a new musical discovery! Somehow it fits this image perfectly, which is why I've decided to stay up until the end of this comment! WOW! I love the wonderful details you've brought out of the original and the details you've added with the popping effect, the light, the vaguely psychedelic colors that recall the best Children's Literature images I've seen in the past. The second panel has a wonderful, shimmering, liquid quality to it that I find quite amazing! ALL of the panels are fantastic, but that's the one that shimmers for me...the others possess a free and easy charm that is just as enjoyable as the shimmer. And though this may not be related, I first saw these while listening to a piece of music by the composer Zbigniew Preisner...oh, such amazing music and a wonderful coincidence as I see this marvel of artwork. Hopefully you're feeling better soon and can put minor but painful and messy procedures behind you! This is fantastic work, absolutely stunning!

kaleidescope (probably not spelled right) each turn of the picture and more light more color each building upon the last....kinda like life huh Love it! Health and stability and energy sent your way with love and light dearheart!

What can I say that already hasn't been said above? It's so difficult to follow the lavish praise heaped upon you and your work, that I'm often left speechless, i.e., Chipka with his inevitable book, and all your other admirers and well wishers. That said, a fine collage of variations on Andrea's Garden of Eden, with a blazing light that reminds me of a mini black hole, momentarily appearing to swallow up the dog and then hurtle it into another dimension. Stellar light and shadow work in this opus, Mark. And, surprised to read that you had another encounter with a physical setback. Hope you heal up real fast and can rejoin us on a steady basis.

I wish you the best over the next few days of healing. This is quite fascinating and so creative. It never ceases to amaze me how differently images can look with some changes in lighting, etc. Nice work!

This is a truly magical series, and as always with your multi-panel works, each image has a totally different mood and emphasis in the details. The colours are spectacular (even the complete lack of colour), and transport us lucky viewers into the multi-faceted dreams of Andrea's unsuspecting dog... Of course it will save the world - how could it fail? I hope you recover soon - you deserve better health, and Renderosity is a poorer place when you're incapacitated.

Oooooh!! I LOVE this! I don't know how you do it, but you always do such awesome mystical things with photos and painting! I couldn't say which is better .. each has it's own magic, from the cool frosty mysterious mists of the first to the hot tropical magic of the last! I don't know how a dog would appreciate these sudden transformaions, but I think they are fabulous! I hope this is the beginning of good health for you, that all those medical maladies are a thing of the past from now on. May your recovery be speedy and complete .. because we are selfish and greedy for more of your beautiful works!

This is a very good!

It is a wild and wonderful journey that has landed a dog in this beautiful garden. The first image is very much one of magical transport. A garden very like any other, (well no, we are looking at Andrea's garden after all) is suddenly suffused in silver light. The light fades, color returns, and a dog wonders at the amazing thing that has just happened to him. Instead of roaming through a dry dusty neighborhood, he is here amid beauty, and the smell of flowers and a bone marrow. From a great distance (and through a special lens) Oitha looks with satisfaction at her latest beneficiary and looks for another weary animal to place. As the setting sun bathes the garden in a red hue, the dog decides to investigate the smell of that bone later, and drifts into a dreamless sleep. Beautiful images and progression. In this case I wouldn't want to play it backwards as then the dog would fade out of this beautiful garden. I love the icy intensity of the first image. A light so brilliant it overwhelms mere color. The second shimmers (as has been said by others before me), and is filled with rich color and dark shadows. There is nothing like black to bring out jewel tones and the dark shadows of number 2 send the rich colors leaping off the screen. Number three is the one that most makes me think that I am looking into a window of the past. There is great depth and a feeling of a mythical time when all was right with the world. The last one also has the feel of days past, but these days, though marvelous, are a little too hot and there are annoying flies about. As always, I thoroughly love your work!
