Description

Vorzul and Myni set out the next morning for Mystral Home. Once again Lynia stayed behind, even though she really didn't want to. She knew Vorzul was right, she needed to tend to her normal everyday life, and put the puzzle that was Vorzul out of her mind for a time. It was just so hard to do! She had known him for so long. They had developed a special bond over time, one that most people would call love. But it went much deeper than that. They both knew what the other was feeling with out a word ever being spoken. This is what caused her so much pain now. She knew he was extremely confused and frustrated by the whole situtation. He wouldn't do anything stupid, she knew that. He was to strong a person for that. Whatever took place during his creation made him one of the strongest people she knew, physically and emotionally. He may not look 'human' or any other race for that matter, but that didn't make him any less of a person in her eyes, or those of anyone who knew him. Lynia knew he would eventually come to grips with it all, even if he never did find out what he was. But she knew it would help if he did. Thats why she never really stopped looking for clues. She knew the answers were out there, it was only a matter of knowing where to look. The remains of the scroll that Vorezul had brought back from the gate gave her a much better idea of where she needed to look. There was very little knowledge of The Old Ones, left. Most of todays civilization didn't even remember them any more, except in a few legendary tales still told by the Bards late at night in the taverns and inns throughout the land. Most just considered them fair tales. She had a few ancient tomes in her vault that she kept perfectly preserved with the aid of her magic. Those old books weren't enough to really help her decipher what was left of the scroll, she needed more to work with one way or another. Because there wasn't anything she could do about the scroll, she would just have to find more of The Old Ones' writings. There were vague hints of what was thought to be a temple of learning, or at least what was left of it, somewhere deep in the mountains to the north. That was one of the main reasons why she built her tower here, to use it as a base to work from. She had searched for almost a century now and still hadn't found what she was looking for. She wasn't even sure if she'd recognize it if she did, but still she tried. The thought of all that ancient knowledge was intoxicating. The things she could do to make the world a better place with that knowledge drove her, and if it could do anything to help her dearest friend all the better! "Calm yourself Lynia," she thought. "You don't need to rush off and do anything stupid either!" She did calm herself and suddenly it was clear, she knew what she needed to do. She spent the rest of the day getting her tower in order and gathering what she needed to take with her. That night she slept better than she had in quite some time and awoke refreshed. She picked up her bag of holding and her staff and walked outside. She stopped long enough to ensure her magical wards were in place to seal the tower from intruders, then set out to catch up with Vorzul and Myni. Well, the next installment is finally up! I think from now on I'll write first, then render! Off to workon the next installment! Thanks for stopping by and all the wonderful comments/favs of my previous work! Have a great day and week ahead!
