Description

1948 Chrysler Windsor Sedan Today we went to the Arlington Fly-In to see an air show and hang out with friends who had been camping there all week. This is my first ever pic from a real live air show! :) Check the reflections and you'll see all sorts of interesting things.

I love this shot! The reflections are stunning, as I've come to expect, and the details are quite marvelous! I'm really taken by the blue and yellow shape in the headlight itself. I have no idea why, but it reminds me of a cartoon fish or sorts! Ah, life is good when you can see cartoon fish in headlights! This is a fantastic shot; it's so rich!

Beware the incredible flying Chrysler! A little known fact is that all Chrysler products could fly until 1956. Then Virgil Exner gave them futuristic wings for 1957 and this caused a tear in the Time/Space Continuium that rendered all Chryslers earthbound from that time forward. LOL. So, was this an air show and a car show combined? I love this picture! Nothing like a great old chromemobile, preferably in black, for great reflections. I love the depth of field within the reflections and the way the paint makes everything look far away and close up at the same time. This is very immediate and makes me feel like I'm actually there. Wonderful work.

"Here's the World War One flying ace High over France in his Sopwith Camel." That's what went through my head when I look at the reflections. Actually that was the third thing that when through my head. Chip beat me to the first. "That's a cute little fish. Look at those eyes!" The second was, "What the bleep is that section of blue and white and black? Is that a reflection?" Then I saw the plane and thought of Snoopy. A closer inspection reassured me on one point. I'm not really sure what it is, (a building or tent?), but seeing it also in the rim of the light assured me that is a reflection and there are some kind of poles in front of it. It's very curious that the blue and white stripes go around it. Now I see what looks like a reflection of the wing of the aircraft! Is it a reflection of the blue and white strips as well? Reflections being reflected again in the shine of the car at the Air Show? Whatever! It's an excellent shot full of intriguing reflections!
