Description

Keeping in mind that this castle was also John and Irene Hammond’s home, as well as his laboratory, so this is a shot of their living quarters. His laboratory? What was he, a reprise of Doctor Victor Frankenstein? And, with a castle to boot, just like in Transylvania. Nice combination of roofing shingles and stonework in this excellent capture of what looks more like a cottage than a castle, Dana.

Now you're talkin'! This looks like an interior courtyard view...where stuff gets intimate (thankfully NOT in an Old World way since indoor plumbing wasn't "the thing" back then.) I love castles, not for any romanticized elements of medieval existence, but simply because they are so impressive and complex and heavy. I love the composition of this shot, and the way the stone work and slate shingles work so perfectly together. The roof shingles actually look a bit like reptilian scales and what's not to like about that?
