Description
Monterey Bay Aquarium has been one of my favorites for years. Their exhibits focus mainly on the aquatic life and maritime ecosystem of the Monterey Bay.
This kelp forest tank displays the denizens of the kelp beds just yards offshore. The constant motion of the fish can become mesmerizing and it is a main congregating spot at the Aquarium. There are even tiers of bench where tired visitors can rest for a few minutes and just watch.
Getting this shot required a lot of patience, but in one brief instant the view opened up and only a fellow photographer and myself had the view all to ourselves.

Years ago I lived in MOnterey...I had no idea that all these fish were so close at hand. I lived there pre-aquarium...need to revisit the area one day. Your patience paid off handsomely:)
