Description

Two weekends ago I was at the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens and this Strelitzia reginae was showing its colours. Very timeous for Nelson Mandela's 92nd birthday last Sunday. Enjoy! Clive

The color looks very yellow and blue instead of the traditional orange and purple! I am wondering if this is a special variety? Wonderful bloom and capture Clive!

What a beautiful bloom! I looked this up. Did you know "Mandela's Gold" is the first time they've got a yellow bird of paradise to grow true from seed? That's quite remarkable. Your photograph absolutely does this beauty justice. Exellent image!
