Description

I was on the road heading north and drove under a large rain cloud. It was the golden hour, about 30 minutes before sunset. I could not believe the intensity of the rainbow and how close that golden pot actually is. I could see trees 100 meters away behind the rainbow! The repetition of the main bow is also amazing - all in camera - no fiddle! I could not find my circular polarizer - it might have added more punch. I have done a bit of editing of the image - basically removing the water drops on the lens as fine drops came in through the open car window. Otherwise the usual contrast and colour. Have you been humming ‘Somewhere over the rainbow’ from the Wizard of Oz? I have! Clive

Yowza! This is an amazing shot. I have yet to see a rainbow this year. Well, I didn't see any last year either; that's just the way things go, I guess. But this is a marvelous double whammy of the best sort. I love the intensity of the primary rainbow and the nicely ethereal quality of the secondary 'bow. Great shot!

Beautiful capture Clive...a double is so rare. I had to stop and count all the primary colors and then play Judy Garland's version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow:)
