Description

I just missed getting a lightning strike in this cloud bank.this was only a small part of a huge thunder head my son yesterday was bitten by a Copperhead snake he is in the hospital in another city being given anti-venom treatment.he was bitten on his pinky finger and he might lose the finger because of the effect of the venom causing flesh to rot and his blood pressure was going up and down, mostly down last night. he works for a small town city's government and liable to be doing anything from heavy equipment operator to reading water meters.he got bit when he tried to clear the glass cover of a water meter .I may go over there today if he is not released from the hospital this morning. thanks for viewing and any comments

Not that it is the same for everyone but my husband was bitten by a diamondback on his finger some years ago. As it turns out, there was no hospital in our city that had much experience with rattlesnake bites and all instructions for care when through the poison center in Atlanta - by phone. Turns out my husband was allergic to the anti-venom that was stocked here (there are two types but the most popular and easiest to get is what was available here). He went into shock with the trial injections of the anti-venom and so they had to treat that AND the snakebite. They told us the same thing they told you about your son's finger. His finger and half of the hand turned black and it was ghastly. He was in the hospital for 4 days and then released. About 1/3rd of the flesh on the finger eventually died and fell off but it healed over. The finger never looked the same but only if you stop to examine it does anyone see there is some damage. BTW, it took about 3 months for the skin to heal over nice and strong.
