Another of those pieces that seemed to take somewhere around forever. Well, not quite that long perhaps, but since this is the forth incarnation of the illustration, it feels like it. Originally done a few years ago with colored pencil on illustration board (18x24 inches at that), which due to giving the piece a final spray with clear coat that had gone really bad had the unfortunate problem of lifting all of the pigment off the board and shattering (no, I'm not kidding). Another attempt on illustration board got ink spilled on it by a clumsy ex-roommate, yet another on done in marker met it's end at my own hands due to spilling a large glass of water near it, which it wicked up a lot of by the time I had grabbed a towel to mop it up. I almost gave up on this on, but any of you who've known me for a while will realize that I'm not one to give up (or as most of my friends say "stubborn"). This time, I went digital. The whole thing was sketched and then painted in Photoshop. Granted, it's still taken a rather long time to get this one finished, I changed style about half way through, reworked the background several times, and have completely changed my painting techniques while working on this. I think I'm finally happy with it (or that maybe it's time to move on to the next one and quit obsessing over every detail on here, which I doubt that 90% of people would notice if they weren't there, but they were bothering me).
