Born in Hilo, Hawaii and class of '66, I became very active in Barbells, Judo and love striking the heavy/speed bag. I've learned to Rollerblade and bike ride which is a very health sport. But time doesn't stop for anyone including for me. So my good friend Dave aka punaguy got me started in taking pictures. I'm having fun taking pictures especially hiking the mountains. I'm enjoying seeing the world thru your post on Renderosity. Mahalo and Aloha....Errol

Amazing shots. I have never seen lava flow this close and different from the regular fire streams. You are incredible at this. Bravo.

Another totally amazing, awesome shot. Even if Gary's home is spared, will he be able to live in it since the roadway is blocked?

Great shot. Yep, can't fool around with the lava. You never know where it will start heading. Aloha and don't take too many chances just to get a great shot....

another awesome image... If Gary has to buy another home tell him to think of higher land next time - part of the reason I live a mile above sea level - lol

I would think all of your lava shots would be of interest to any one writing a book on the subject. Is there a reason they can not bulldose a trench to guide the lava flow away from the houses ?
Cosine
Congratulations on your 1000th, post, my friend. You sure picked a hot one for the milestone.

jjoker....They tried in the past to build dikes to stop the lava, but it never worked. The power of Mother Nature is just to strong. Aloha
