Description

Captured 7/14 and 7/20/10, early in the morning, within walking distance of this place I call home. Actually, despite being the height of summer, most of our mornings have been cool and overcast so far this month. The overcast usually burns off around noon, leaving us with more than ample sunshine. I was able to sneak in these shots during the few days we did have full day sunshine. TTFN, thankx for the peek, and for any and all complimentary comments and faves.

I think the chain one is my favorite; I love the swooping lines of the chain mirrored in the shadow. What I remember about summers in So.Cal. is the cloud cover every morning that burned off by noon; then the breeze that came up around 3:00 pm. Of course I was living within biking distance to the beach, and it was at the beach that I spent most of my days, so that's the summer marine forecast, I guess. Nice work!

I use to see the same shadow everyday going into the building I work at at the college, it was a tree on the side of the building and it was so cool and I told myself for about a year to get here at a certain time to get a photo I finally did one morning of course a student stopped to ask what are you taking a picture of and I said the shadow of the tree, he thought that was pretty cool. These are cool captures. You are so very creative.

I agree with MrsRatbag ... the chain link one is my favourite too and as a rule, I love shadows, they can really create a mood to a scene and add depth too. Hope you are keeping well my dear friend :-) xxx

Excellent shadow captures Harry! I too like the flowing lines of the chains but the others are great too! Well seen and captured! We have had a couple of lovely winter days - lovely warm sunshine during the day and then cooling right down during the night!

I love shadows! They are right up there with reflections! I saw a wonderful shadow yesterday,as I waited at the bank drive-through. It was of the grill-work with the tubes that stuff goes shooting through to get to the tellers. I was a little nervous about taking a picture though. People at banks are sometimes a little sensitive about such things. These are wonderful! I also like the second one, but my favorite is the first one. I love the sharp definition and shapes of the pipes and connections. It takes on a whole other reality and makes me think of mechanical machinery and mad scientists. (Apropos of nothing, the street name on the third one, was my grandmother's maiden name) Great shots!
